History HighPointe Farm was built by Bill and Wanda Shurlow in 2000. Jill worked for them as a “jack of all trades” when they bought their first horses. She would come to the farm after she finished her day job of teaching second grade at Rockford Public Schools and did everything from cleaning stalls to training to helping run the barn. After Bill passed away in 2014, Wanda decided she wanted to sell the farm… but this farm was more than just a farm to her! This place was her heart and she didn’t want it being developed into 50 houses. In a miraculous story of faith and miracles, the Herweyer family purchased the farm in August of 2016. Wanda’s love for the farm was evident and it was very important to the Herweyer family that her dedication to making this place so special would be carried on. They have taken her vision and expanded it to fit with their own as they have opened the doors wide and invited all to experience the joy and the peace that HighPointe Farm brings to your soul.
